The consultancy is led by Rob Westwood, an experienced ISO lead auditor and management systems professional with extensive experience supporting organisations across manufacturing, construction, engineering and service sectors.

Having worked both as a consultant and third-party certification auditor, Rob understands what certification bodies expect during audits and helps organisations implement practical, certification-ready management systems that genuinely improve business performance.

Hi, I’m Rob, founder of AlineX. I specialise in helping businesses strengthen their Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality practices. With over 10 years’ experience across manufacturing, management systems, and environmental leadership, I have been in your shoes! I am also an experienced third party certification auditor, with experience on both sides of the table. I focus on making workplaces safer, more sustainable, and more efficient.

ISO certification support (9001, 14001, 45001) is part of what I do — but my real goal is to help you build practical systems that reduce risk, protect people, and deliver long-term value.

The AlineX Journey

2013–2016 - University and Study’s

  • Completed a BA (Hons) in Fire & Leadership, developing a strong foundation in fire safety, emergency planning, organisational leadership, and risk management. The programme combined technical fire safety knowledge with leadership and decision-making principles, providing a structured understanding of risk control, incident management, and organisational resilience.

2016–2021 - Building the Foundation

  • Gained hands-on experience in manufacturing, engineering, and environmental management.

  • Developed practical, results-driven approach to quality, safety, and environmental improvement.

  • Implemented and maintained ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and BRCGS Packaging

  • Gained experience preparing for audits, presenting the management system to external third party auditors

2021–2024 - Lead Consultant at Aline QA

Aline QA was formed during COVID - 19 pandemic to provide BRCGS and ISO consultancy remotely across the UK.

  • Supported dozens of businesses through ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 certification readiness.

  • Development of excel system solutions (VBA, Macros)

  • Focused on internal audits, compliance evaluations, and practical system implementation.

Our growth at Aline QA was limited and the decision was made to rebrand into AlineX

2021–2024 - Multi Skilled Lead Auditor

Worked as a third-party certification auditor, conducting independent assessments of organisations against internationally recognised ISO management system standards. This role involved auditing management systems against ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) to verify compliance with certification requirements.

Through this experience, developed a detailed understanding of how certification bodies assess organisations, including the evaluation of management system effectiveness, operational controls, legal compliance, and continual improvement processes. This experience provides valuable insight into what certification auditors look for during Stage 1 and Stage 2 certification audits, enabling AlineX to help organisations implement practical systems that meet certification expectations.

2025 – Present - Principal Consultant & Founder, AlineX Limited

We re branded from ALINE QA and founded AlineX Limited in Tamworth, UK, offering full-service HSQE consultancy (hybrid delivery: on-site & remote).
